Slewfoot 7.17 – Bringer of Rancourt

Welcome to the Slewfoot Hockey Show! This week we bring you more news from around the world of hockey! We’ve added a new twist to our show – we’re now adding video of our show and will be posting it on our channel on YouTube! Check us out there to see how Dave’s moustache is looking…

This week on the show, we start by discussing the suspension of the Iron Man – Andrew Coglianao. Was it warranted, was it fair, was it the right thing to do? We then jump into the retirement of Number 88 in Philadelphia. Eric Lindros was a force on the ice – we talk about his career in Philadelphia. Next we visit the Chicago Blackhawks and their potential injury woes, we chat about long time Bruins Anthem singer Rene Rancourt, and we discuss the potential team names for the potential team in Seattle – warning, some of them are just plain awful. We discuss our player of the week, there’s some good choices and we end our show with another game of Real Stat or Forget That – our favourite game!

We hope you enjoy the show and we look forward to hearing from you! Be sure to check out our YouTube page for the latest episodes!

Slewfoot 7.16 – The Brock Love

We are back for another episode of the Slewfoot Hockey Show! There’s been a few roster announcements this week and we talk about all of them.

First, there was the announcement of the Canadian National hockey team that will be representing Canada in the upcoming Olympics. There are not any current NHL players, but we go over who will be playing, where they play and what to look for. We believe that if we can support a mogels skiier or a bobsledder, we can support this team that will certainly be giving all they have as well.

We take a look at all of the NHL All Star selections for the All Star game in Tampa at the end of them month and we offer our thoughts on who will be going and maybe who should be going. We can all agree however, that the players that are going will make this event competitive.

We then give our opinion on who should win the mid-season awards for the NHL. It has been a good start for many players and we discuss who should win the awards for the Hart, the Vezina, the Calder & the Jack Adams. Is your pick the same as ours? Dave seems to be a bit stuck on Brock to win everything…

To close out the show, we give you are picks for Player of the Week – complete with some brand new theme music.

Thank you for listening, please be sure to tune in next week, when we launch onto YouTube! Send your questions our way!

Slewfoot 7.15 – Happy Slewfoot New Year!

Happy 2018 from the Slewfoot Hockey Show!

We have a brand new episode this year from snowy Strathroy, Ontario and we are excited to be back! We start our show with a discussion of the World Junior Championship that took place in Buffalo. Was it the right place to have it? What was with the attendance? Should it not be held in a city that doesn’t have a junior hockey presence?

It was an exciting final between Canada and Sweden and we give you our take on the game and the hardware being tossed into the stands afterwards.

Next we discuss the upcoming All Star Game that will be taking place in Tampa later this month. We discuss who the Captains will be, who the Head Coach for each division will be and we talk about some changes that could potentially happen in the skills competition.

We talk about the possibility of the NHL sending it’s players to the 2022 Olympic games in Beijing, our weekly look at what the Vegas Golden Knights are doing, a new segment where we pick our player of the week and then we end the show with another round of “Real Stat or Forget That” – you don’t want to miss it!

Thank you for listening! Enjoy the show!
